Editorial Review
Raphael's is located in a superb setting atop the cliffs of Shorncliffe, affording a breathtaking view of Moreton Bay. The view is so fantastic that I would class it as one of the best views in all of Brisbane, especially when there is a full moon creating a silver trail over the smooth waters of the bay. The ambience of Raphael's dining room only enhances this mood. Situated in a historic building first built in 1889 and lovingly restored in 1991, the dining room is painstakingly reminiscent of the era with soft lighting, sepia wood-framed photographs and antiques adorning the old fire place.
The magic continues with impeccable service and a five-star team in the kitchen. Raphael's has a reputation for creating great chefs, and the care and attention given to each meal is evident both gastronomically and aesthetically. Braised veal cheek ravioli with veal consomme and micro salad vies for attention with the all-oyster menu for entree. Mains offer the famous Chicken Raphael - a supreme of chicken pocketed with fresh crabmeat, garlic butter and pan roasted in a sesame crumb. That's just a taste of why Raphael's is an award-winning restaurant in an award-winning location.
